On October 29, I made the positive identification of this Green-breasted Mango in Dublin, Georgia. I am a longtime Master Bander whose specialty is hummingbirds. Martha Sargent (my wife and partner) captured and banded this bird yesterday morning just at dawn. The bird was seen by many Georgia birders yesterday in the afternoon. This bird can be observed by birders from the back deck or side yard, some 30-50 feet away, if the observers are quiet and can sit still. This same couple (Marshall and Laurie Jackson) had a selasphorus hummer last year, in addition to an adult male Bullock's Oriole, and many Baltimore Orioles. Their yard reflects the fact that they are Master Gardeners who love birds. They are also friendly to birders. This is a first state record for Georgia.
