A Rufous-backed Robin was sighted on Nov. 23 in Madera Canyon between 11:30 and 11:45 am in the creek bed near the second bridge downstream from Madera Picnic Area (this location is just upstream from the "owl-roost" tree). My son, Steve, managed to get a few photos. The bird stayed near the stream bed for at least 15 minutes before flying up to a nearby tree.
